UNFCCC

Social Enterprise NL represents, connects and supports the growing community of social enterprises in The Netherlands. A community of over 300 social enterprises form the member base of Social Enterprise NL. These members are active in 16 business sectors and have a diverse range of impact areas such as circular economy, renewable energy and active participation in the labour market for underprivileged groups.   
Coalizão Clima e Mobilidade Ativa
 
The Climate and Active Mobility Coalition is partnership of civil society groups and organisations that deal with active mobility and climate change. We believe in taking action as a network to better impact and influence the Brazilian climate agenda. By doing so we be able to achieve more ambitious reductions in emissions in the transportation sector acknowledging pedestrians and cyclists as the basis for the low carbon cities of the future.
The idea to form a coalition began after a meeting with the UNFCCC. Aline Cavalcante handed out Executive secretary Patricia Espinosa with the Manifest for Active Mobility. The proposal was written and signed by a group of organisations and made it clear of how important pedestrians to curb our emissions in the urban environment.
Dutch Consulate
The Netherlands Consulate General in São Paulo represents, promotes and protects the interests of the government of the Netherlands, as well as those of Dutch nationals in Brazil. The Economic Team of the Embassy deals with Economy, Trade, Investment, Innovation and Agriculture between the Netherlands and Brazil, and assists Dutch companies looking for market opportunities. Furthermore, Brazil is a focus country in the Dutch international cultural policy. The cultural cooperation between the Netherlands and Brazil is focused on greater appreciation for the intrinsic and social significance of culture, the importance of exchange and the connecting role of culture and support for cultural diplomacy worldwide. ‘The Liveable City’ is the overall theme for our cooperation with Brazil. Our efforts are aimed at knowledge sharing, talent development & co-creation and the promotion of cross-sectoral, creative solutions by the Dutch cultural sector.

ABN AMRO is a Dutch bank serving Retail, Private and Corporate Banking clients with a focus on the Netherlands and selective operations internationally.Climate change is a focal point in ABN AMRO's sustainability strategy. In its Mission 2030 initiative, ABN AMRO has set a clear target: by 2030, the average energy label of all homes and offices the bank helps finance must be ‘A’. As a result, ABN AMRO will achieve a reduction of 2 megatonnes of carbon emissions per year starting in 2030, which is equivalent to the annual emissions of 800,000 cars. ABN AMRO will also make sure that all the offices they use are energy-efficient and will support their clients and staff in their efforts to make their real estate more sustainable. ABN AMRO offers them advice, financing products, online tools and discounts. This includes online sustainability tools, sharing knowledge on energy innovation with their own real-estate as testing playground, and offering to fully finance investments in making commercial real estate more sustainable. This is one of the ways ABN AMRO creates value for its clients, employees, investors and society as a whole.
The Amsterdam Metropolitan Area
The Amsterdam Metropolitan Area (AMA) is a partnership between two provinces (Noord-Holland and Flevoland), one transport region, and 33 municipalities in the northern part of the Randstad conurbation. This economically diverse region, with its varied urban areas and landscapes, has a population of 2.4 million and stretches from IJmuiden to Lelystad and from Purmerend to Haarlemmermeer. The AMA is a region known for its high quality of life, with attractive amenities, good public transport and a relatively highly educated population. It’s one of Europe’s five strongest economic regions. The co-operation between the partners in AMA focuses on issues that partners cannot resolve by themselves. Preserving the quality of the landscape, managing mobility within the region and fighting climate changing by decreasing CO2-emissions therefore are focus points in the informal AMA co-operation.
University of Amsterdam
The University of Amsterdam(UvA) is one of the leading research universities in Europe. A modern university with a long, rich history (going back to 1632). In recent years, the university has combined teaching and research at four lively city campuses, including the University Quarter in the heart of Amsterdam’s city centre. Sustainability is one of the central tenets of the development of open urban campuses, both during construction and later during the use of the buildings. UvA is developing and managing its campuses with respect for man and the environment through sustainable construction. This involves:
  • energy efficient construction;
  • a healthy indoor climate;
  • choice of materials;
  • preventing the exhaustion of raw materials;
  • responsible water consumption
The energy transition means the University of Amsterdam faces additional challenges. Specifically in the areas of energy supply and energy consumption, and in relation to the realisation of the University Quarter in particular. By taking part in the challenge, UvA wishes to make a contribution to the development of approaches and methods that can be applied in historic city centres – for example in the University Quarter.
