Cygni Energy with Inverterless technology, has brought in an efficient and affordable way to harness solar power
Long description
India has about 300 million people who do not have access to electricity. Globally this number is closer to 1.2 billion. While some of these population lives in urban or semi-urban areas, a vast majority of them are in rural India. Getting these regions electrified is a major challenge due to terrain difficulties and accessibility. The only solution here is distributed power generation through renewable energy.
With the lowering cost of rooftop solar solutions, numerous unique solutions to provide rural solution have been explored over the last few years. These solutions typically focus of providing lighting solutions like emergency lamps with 5-40Wp solar panel. While such solutions work well, they do not bring rural India on the same level as its urban counterpart. Other rooftop solutions look at powering homes with 12/24V solutions. The main drawback of such solution is the scalability of such systems as power drawn from these systems are limited. Most devices are low cost and poor quality products. The kind of appliances are limited to bulbs and table fans. Any larger appliances like TVs and Mixer/Grinders cannot run on these system. Expanding the solution to increase more appliances becomes difficult. There is no service centers available in case of any system issues. Given the earning of the people in the regions are generally around $2 daily, they need an economical, reliable product which can be a grid alternative.
