Innovative approach to energy production in urban sectors from waste valorization centers, following an organic waste generation - B2B model
Long description
We are a team of Mexicans who are born and bred in Mexico City and have experienced the day-to-day challenges growing up in a densely populated, highly polluted city. Our project is focused on developing sustainable and practical ways of reducing waste and carbom emissions in our city, knowing how businesses and day-to-day life operates here.
Sustenta´s R&D team is working in a own MVP biogas plant prototype, which could process 400kg organic waste per day and produce 15 cubic meters/day, and 200kg/day of biofertilizer.
The design of our project aims to support waste valorization by developing in an organic way, our prototype is fed from food and garden waste and we are developing an integrated structure to automate activities around the transport of waste, to increase efficiency and reduce operational costs.
Alongside the development of our prototype, we have created off-site solutions in strategic zones in the city, our aim is to have one in every municipality in Mexico City. The solutions address the creation of valorization centers, which consider different organic waste valorization processes such as: anaerobic (Sustenta´s MVP prototype), aerobic, vermicompost and typical compost production.
Our services are focused at a B2B level, we aim to support urban restaurants, schools, shopping centers, hotels, corporate offices, hospitals, etc that contribute to significant waste in the city. Our micro-logistics programs focus on how to enhance waste collection services, reducing the distances traveled on traditional routes to landfills.
