The ETDS is a service for public and private parties in Amsterdam, to co-design and validate energy solutions as efficiently as possible.
Long description
Over the last 2 years Noorderwind has become an expert in applying the Google Venture Design Sprint methodology in sustainable transitions and we would like to turn this experience in a dedicated service for Amsterdam’s energy transition by developing a Design Sprint specifically for energy challenges and solutions. We believe a so called ‘Energy Transition Design Sprint’ (ETDS) has the potential to be the fastest way to find out if a specific energy solution is worth really investing time and money in. This ETDS is a 5 day long sprint focused on co-designing sustainable energy solutions involving all stakeholders in the process.
It starts with a specific energy challenge given by a public or private party. The goal is to find out which solution fits best with the specific energy challenge within 5 days. These 5 days will focus on: understanding the challenge (by expert interviews); sketching, choosing and building solutions; ending with testing the solution with users and experts.
We employ techniques like design thinking, rapid prototyping and validation interviews with stakeholders to accomplish this result in such a short time frame. The public or private party brings 5 experts to the sprint team: we add our designer, tech expert and facilitator to the team to design and validate the most feasible solution together.
