“Kewi’s Adventures” is an educational video game for children, centring around the topic of sustainability.

Long description

The video game is for children between 6 and 12 years old. A variety of topics will be included such as waste and energy management, which correlates with primary school subjects such as Natural Sciences, Geography and Civic formation, according to the Mexican curriculum.

Children will learn and use this knowledge at home by carrying out activities proposed by the game in order to complete levels. Parental participation will be important, and parents will receive key information to help their children make a change. For parents, an App will be designed as a complement to the game, where information about recycling centres, types of waste, and energy saving tips will be displayed in a visually pleasing manner.

The video game follows the story of Kewi (axolotl) and his friends, Anam (jaguar) and Muluk (turtle), each of these characters representing an endangered Mexican species. Kewi lives in Mexico City and is sad because his family moved away due to excessive waste and pollution. They will only come back if Mexico City becomes clean and green again. Kewi has a lot of ideas of how to reunite his family, and how to make a more sustainable, beautiful Mexico, but in order to make it happen, he needs help from his friends as well as from all Mexican children. Some levels take place in landmarks of Mexico City, which motivates children to do activities outside with their parents (such as visiting museums, monuments and discovering places in the city).
