An innovative approach to generate free electricity through employing the flow of domestic wastewater entering the sewer.

Long description

Domestic wastewater is an inevitable part of the urban areas. Ideally, for wastewater management in a municipal treatment the waste water enters an underground pipe or vessel called sewer which guides it to sanitary  units.

The fluid part of this wastewater which can be separated by individual piping as per consuming sector (kitchen, bathroom, etc) or simply by filtering the solid parts, has the potential of running a hydro turbine when leaving the houses. This free flow, gives the opportunity to generate free electricity by simple considerations.

In order to have an efficient design, the wastewater of a group of houses can be guided to a single turbine. This gathering strategy not only reduce the costs, but also make the generation more stable.

The generating unit is located underground, so the issues regarding to aesthetic and noise emission are not matters of concern.
