Nairobi Food Initiative

App that enables communication of transportation of food. It allows organizations to rent out space in trucks and track their location.

Long description

This app will be able to track trucks throughout the city of Nairobi. Space can also be rented to other companies through this app especially if some trucks are going to the same place, but not completely full. The trucks will be track in real time to increase efficiency of the transportation routes. To reduce the amount of petrol being used the app will track the trucks and reduce amount of distance and wait time that they have to keep their trucks running. It will take time for this data to be evaluated properly, but after that the routes can be changed to be the most efficient. This will also organize transportation and reduce time that the food can become warmer inside the trucks. With better transportation to restaurants and grocery stores there would be less time that food will stay inside poorly constructed storage. With less time for food to rot there is less wasted energy that it would normally require to grow the crops. Consumers will order the food needed for the day and the trucks will be able to get there on time because of the ability for the trucks to arrive on point time.
