The largest, barren and underutilized terrain in cities is the roofscape. Traditional roofs provide no ecological, economic, aesthetic, or psychological benefits.With cities competing for space, the roofscape provides a unique place and opportunity to replenish our cities with green, productive areas. Our cities’ roofscape has an enormous unexploited potential that can make our cities more livable, resilient and prepare us for our changing climate. Also national governments and local municipalities are realising that the roofs landscape has an enormous potential and are promoting their use through subsidies and schemes. Yet, the rooftop landscape is also a highly complex one, with various stakeholders who all have their say. This is where the Rooftop Revolution comes in! We inspire, assist and advise companies, municipalities, hotels, (social) housing coorporations and anyone with a traditional rooftop that remains unused. Rooftop Revolution is devoted to the productive and sustainable use of rooftops. Whether as a habitat for nature, a place to escape busy city streets, for the production of renewable energy, a place to store water or a combination of all of the above, no rooftop should be left unused!
