Tujilishe is a system that intends to connect farmers with vendors or consumers across Nairobi country via a mobile app and social networks.

Mobile App

The mobile app will have the following features

  1. It should work effectively in the most simplest smartphone
  2. It should have a section for wholesalers and retailers.
  3. A section that allows Kenyans to donate surplus food products and sells manure.
  4. Link customers directly to farmers through calling them or direct messages
  5. Direct money transactions through the app to avoid conmen thus they should use lipa na Mpesa which is free or Mpesa.
  6. Create market days that coincide with local market days where prices are subsidized and buyers buy in bulk such as Wednesday and Saturdays.

Distribution Centers

  1. Liaise with post office
  2. Use the bodaboda and tuktuk transport that is already established
  3. Use crowd-shipping and other mechanisms that are already in place
  4. Train cybercafe attendants how to offer the services in rural areas
  5. e.t.c

Farmers Education

  1. An education segment where farmers can ask question on issues in the app
  2. Social media initiatives
  3. A YouTube channel showing of short videos teaching the basics of food production and DYI techniques for Nairobian such as drip irrigation, sack gardens and proper nutrition.
  4. The YouTube channel will be highly advertised and some contents can be aired in local TV station, it will also be followed with social media pages.
