Ubuntu Kiosk is an eco sustainable physical and digital kiosk selling food direct from farmer and added value products made from agri waste.

Long description

Ubuntu Kiosk will allow consumers to buy healthier more affordable food straight from farmer through an android app. This allows the farmers to earn more, plan better, reduce waste, as well as make money form waste.

Having a physical Kiosk is needed to build a relationship with the consumer. Currently each kiosk averages 500 consumers. Consumers are ready for healthy affordable food. The kiosk will deliver pre ordered  weekly food baskets to immediate residents through the kiosk. The Kiosk will also act as a maker site for the processing of waste food which will be sold on site and on the app. Products will be packaging free and will change depending on the waste. Daily street food will also be made form agri waste.

The kiosk will be a zero net power kiosk. We will use eco jiko’s and cold storage techniques, simple technology, will be fully solar powered and all made from upcycled materials. The Kiosk is low cost and quick to build.

Each Kiosk will be owned and run as a franchise by a collective of friends as a social and financial investment.
