Using piezoelectric tiles and other components, we can collect power generated by pedestrian walks, cars and public transportation

Long description

Piezoelectric components may be installed almost everywhere in the city: metro stairs, sidewalks, pedestrian crossings, but also under tram rails and roads using the weight of people and public transportation to generate electricity to be stored into underground batteries connected to road lights, traffic lights, or the regular network. Amount of people walking trough Amsterdam is massive, the only floor of the Central Station can cover the whole illumination of the station itself. This technology is not new but has never been extensively applied, with right financing and support from the municipality we can develop trial paths to actually measure the full potential in real conditions.
