Sustainable clean electricity & natural air ventilation with a combined Windcatcher and turbine for buildings

Long description

Yazd is a city in Iran known as the “city of Windcatchers” which is a traditional Iranian architectural element to create natural ventilation in buildings. The “WindCATCH” project is an idea inspired from this effective old HVAC system to combine it with wind turbines (and also capable of integration with solar energy that does not included for the first step) to put forward at the same time both clean electricity and air ventilation capabilities.
It can attract a lot of attention towards itself because of its potentialities in obviating the issues of concern mentioned for Amsterdam, namely:

  1. sustainable energy demand
  2. lack of enough space for clean energy
  3. preserving historical view of the city

by enabling the buildings to produce parts of their energy demands in themselves. This, in turn, leads to lower energy costs for people and healthier electrical distribution network due to lower peak loads on it.
Last but not least thing to say is the enjoying of natural ambient air ventilation in the buildings instead of dull air trapped in the closed space of a room, especially when the wind comes from the beach of the sea!
