A platform for awareness and waste reduction behind the delivery of food at home

Long description

According to the 2016 study of the Ministry of the Environment, in the CDMX more than 484, 872 thousand tons of perishable food are wasted annually, of which 48% of the waste is residential, houses, apartments and housing units. The main causes are the null or poor planning of the food to be acquired and the excessive purchase that leads citizens to throw their waste and food waste into the trash can.

We want to reduce the waste of food by anticipating its decomposition. Preventing these organic products from accumulating with users. And finding a way to manage such foods in a more appropriate and timely manner.

Our project will focus on guiding the user to perform actions that improve the process of food consumption, starting with the guide for weekly menu planning with defined portions suggesting the quantities to the user, the platform will suggest natural seasonal products with healthy recipes, practical and balanced so that the user benefits from this first step.

In the same platform you can make your order of food supplies that will be delivered in baskets and paper bags thus avoiding the generation of other types of waste. Notifications will be sent to the user to follow up on their food and thus be able to evaluate how realistic was their planning and product acquisition. The objective would be to reduce these waste by creating awareness and guiding users to achieve it.
